4 months until freedom

Yesterday marked another milestone for us. 4 months until retirement *gasps* Yep. 4 months. That's only 16 weeks. It seems like every time we wake up, we lose another week. Time is flying by!!

Retiring from the military comes with

some stress before the big day. Bill has to do his day to day obligations on the ship then top that with creating ceremony scripts, speech writing, catering plans, venue arrangements, shopping for gifts, creating and mailing invitations..... and that's just for the day of the event. We have to decide which medical care plan we want to go with, file paperwork with the VA for any disability, final physical and dental exams, and the list goes on and on. Besides all of that, he still has to work with the incoming CO and get ready to hand things over to him a week or two before the ceremony, as well. Not that we have any idea what a non-military retirement is like, but we assume it's not as stressful?! But when all is said and done, Bill will be retired after 27 years in the USCG and we HIT. THE. ROAD *wooohoooo*
