6 months later we finally were able to finish our remod in our 3rd (and final) RV. This go around we went a bit easier on ourselves and only changed a few things. Instead of bright white and gray tones, we decided on BoHo browns and ivory’s. We took 6 months to complete verses 1 month like the last time. Even though we didn’t change much, we still took our time and not stressed ourselves out. I mean, we ARE retired now, right? We live on island time now :)

We pulled factory photos off the internet for our “before” pics because we lost ours when Erin upgraded her phone but wanted to give you an idea on the dark style our RV once was.

Little remod goes a long way and we are tickled over it!

Here’s what we did, our costs, and products we used and purchased:

🔅Erin painted walls in Mercer White from Sherwin Williams Showcase, in Satin base, from Lowes for $38 a can and we only used 1 can. Mercer White actually an ivory color, not white by any means. We did put one coat of Kilz primer on the walls, then used this paint. Still needed 3 coats to get a solid color. Thank you factory panels *roll eyes*

Misc painting supplies $20

🔅We replaced valances & accordion blinds with natural, woven wood (bamboo) blinds from Just Blinds. Color: Tiki Carbon. Custom sized to 8 of our windows. We did not replace the loft, garage bathroom or garage windows. We have other plans for those. We spent $450 after using discount codes. Codes vary so do a search. Right now the code for 20% off is SITEWIDE

🔅Spray painted cabinets above TV, door and side cabinets behind couch in

Rust-oleum Hammered Brown spray paint. $6 a can, we bought 2 cans.

🔅Removed all glass panels in cabinets and replaced with tongue and groove knotty pine beaded panels, also stained in Early American varnish. A 12 pack of panels only costs $13, we only used 2 packs.

Early American varnish, small can $5.

🔅We removed 2 sections of the HUGE couch and purchased a small, natural table and chair set from Amazon for $182 verses the exact same one on Wayfair which was $289. Its solid and strong. GREAT purchase!

🔅Our kitchen faucet was a weird rubber gooseneck so we swapped it out for a detachable sprayer faucet. Purchased for $75 on Amazon which was nearly half of what they cost at Lowes.

🔅The 2.5x7'' area rug in front of the couch was from Target.

Our multicolored rug was from Home Goods, varies store to store but here is one very similar to ours.

🔅Our metal cala coffee table is from World Market, the one thing we brought with us from Gypsyii. Erin just couldn’t part ways with it. We purchased it for $250 a year ago, you can become a member and get discount, otherwise it’s over $300.

The grand total for this kitchen, living area, and window treatments is $948. This does not include the coffee table we brought from our previous RV. We did remodel our main bathroom and upgraded our queen mattress. That content for another blog. Stay tuned.

This simple facelift brightened a dark space and made the RV feel more homey. We are very pleased with how this turned out. If you have any question, please feel free to hit us up!

What will we tackle next?

  1. Most likely it’ll be our bedroom. We are thinking about redesigning our bed with bucket shelving on their sides. Giving us more storage space because right now all we have is a small drawer at the foot of the bed. At that time we may even tackle replacing the carpeting. It blows our minds how much we spend on our rigs but yet the quality of carpeting is awful.

  2. The garage (toy hauler area) will be painted and reorganized.
